Shooters,
As some of you already know-there was recently an
allegation that rounds were leaving the MGAC range and landing on the property
to the north of MGAC.
I response to that allegation and communication with
authorities from Manatee County MGAC will be implementing some new guidelines
for use of the ranges, particularly as it relates to the use of steel targets
and steel target placement.
MGAC has dealt with this same issue in years past and it
is important that it be addressed to avoid any political pressure that would
result in the potential closure of MGAC.
It is yet to be finalized as to exactly what those new
guidelines will be, but suffice it to say they will impact the way in which we
design our stages, and what equipment specifications we will need to adhere to.
This alleged incident did not occur during one of our
matches and the Board of Directors at MGAC are committed to the continued
support of our
3 gun discipline along with the other disciplines active
at MGAC.
We are communicating with the MGAC officers and board in
this regard and will have more to report as this develops.
At this juncture we cannot be assured that everything
will be resolved prior to our next scheduled match so we will provide an update
on match status via email, and will also be posting on the Manatee 3 Gun FB
page as well as the Manatee3gun.com webpage.
So please stay-tuned.
